7th Art Show of Painting of the "Syndicat d'Initiative"
For PIERRE VALLON, the Prize of the City

The 7th Art Showof Painting and Sculpture organised by the "Syndicat d'Initiative" of Saint-Avertin opened last Tuesday for the first time in the splendid room of "L' Atrium" in the common building Paul-Louis Courrier ended for some months.
A nice presentation in this luminous space emphasised paintings and sculptures displayed by many talented local and regional artists renowned and of whom jury had difficult tries to determine the best paintings or sculptures.
During the private view which attended more than 900 persons, many artists in the presence of Mr Pouzioux, Conseiller General and Mayor, Mr Depierre, first adds to the Mayor, Mrs Leduc, President of the S.I., a delegation of Steinbach, Mr Guy Tartarin, creator of this Art Show, the devoted M. Flober Léon addressed the gratitude to 77 exhibitors introducing 190 paintings and 26 sculptures by determining the quality released from subjects more various and more engaging than other years, the municipality for the material help and all persons or members of the S.I who devoted themselves for the success of this Art Show. "In this new room of an ideal development, we arrive near perfection» he says« but for years to come it will be necessary to make choices because we cannot extend any more, for lack of place. We will rethink this subject".
Before the delivery of rewards, he pays his compliments to Mr Guy Tartarin, pioneer of this realisation, and to the delegation of Steinbach, Mr Linges and Mr Käse, responsible for the workshop of painting of this twin city, for the quality of 26 displayed paintings and sculptures.
After this delivery of certificates and medals during of which Mr Pouzioux, by congratulating him, delayed to the laureate of Art Show, M. Pierre Vallon, ler Prize of the City of Saint-Avertin, by reminding that his father had been Principal of our primary school before the war and that he lived in our city.
This last (Pierre Vallon) expressed him then the desire to give in the city one of the displayed paintings, as a token of the attachment to our city.
Mrs Leduc, President of the S.I delayed presents to the German delegation on proof of friendship which joins our two cities.
Mr Depierre was happy that this exhibition takes place in this "Atrium" so much waited for such demonstrations which will be of use for the cultural development of the village.
